The University of New England Centre for Excellence in the Neurosciences (CEN) has been awarded a generous grant from the Michael T. Goulet Traumatic Brain Injury and Epilepsy Foundation. The award will help support three projects relating to educating students about the traumatic brain injury (TBI), including strategies to protect the brain against injuries and how to care for patients and their families recover from a TBI.
The Foundation is named after Michael T. the Goulet, a beloved son, brother and friend whose life was tragically cut short. On February 15, 2003 as a result of a snow crash, Michael endured a traumatic brain injury. It is tragic, Michael suffered a grand mal seizure and died of complications on October 14, 2010.

the Brad Goulet, Michaels father and chairman of the Foundation, states, on behalf of the Foundation, our donors, volunteers, and our family, it gives me great pleasure to award this to offer to the Universitys Center for Excellence in Neurosciences. Our Foundation was founded in a deeply personal tragedy and the need to make a difference in people’s lives affected by brain injury and epilepsy. These programs offer an opportunity to make a difference to make the biggest impact by preventing the brain the security module development, as well as the chance of the model of treatment for patients and their families to redefine as they migrate from the trauma, acute care, rehabilitation and reintegration of the internship and fellowship programs
