Champions of Champions Elite Begins Coverage of Sportaccord Combat Games in Beijing

Champions of Champions Elite (COC Elite) presents two more exciting championship bouts on August 27th.

COC Elite continues on the path of bringing dynamic championship bouts to the viewing audience. This months bout features Marco The Sniper Pique vs. Sean Wright in a battle for the Intercontinental Welterweight belt. Pique and Wright are two of the rising stars in the WMC and both are on the path to becoming solid superstars. Pique comes in with an impressive win over Traik Slimami while Wright seeks to regain his footing after a fast start to 2009.

The featured bout of the evening is between Australian Superstar John Wayne The Gunslinger Parr vs. Buakaw Por. Pramuk the living legend from Thailand for the vacant WMC MAD Middleweight title that has the entire Muay Thai community buzzing. This bout is a greatly anticipated rematch that has been coming since Buakaw won a split decision over Parr in 2004 in the K1 World Max Tournament final. A fight so close, they had to go an extra round to decide a winner. Both fighters come into the fight after unanimous decisions and are prime to go kick for kick to take the title home to their country.

This will be an exciting show that the Women of COC Elite will be making their debut. Another exciting event this week is the start of Sportaccord Combat Games 2010. COC Elite takes off this week for Beijing to cover this landmark competition bringing together the top 13 martial arts and combat sports in the world. This represents a significant step in COC Elites quest to become the hub for all things Muay Thai in North America. While in Beijing, COC Elite will have access the top Muay Thai fighters in the world as well as top officials with the IFMA and Sport Accord. This event is being hailed by many as the Olympics of Martial Arts. This will truly be an historic event and COC Elite will be there with a team to cover every single minute.

Pique vs. Wright for the Intercontinental Welterweight Title

Marco The Sniper Pique – 29 years old. Record of 48 Wins 27 KOs 24 Loses 1 Draw.

Marco was born in Surname and fights out of the Slamm gym in the Netherlands. Marco fought on the first Champions of Champions card and mad ea strong impression on those in the crowd as well as the fighters represented there. Marco seeks to make an even stronger impression for this fight to take away the memory of a close decision in 2008. Marco is extremely adept with his hands and also possesses strong kicks which he can put together in bunches due to his superior hand and foot speed. Marco has an impressive collection of tournament titles and now seeks to separate Wright from his WMC Championship belt to cement his position as an up and comer in Muay Thai.

Sean Wright 29 years old. Record of 29 Wins 14 KOs 14 Losses 2 Draws.

Sean comes in as the reigning WMC Intercontinental Champ. Sean fights out of Lanna Muay Thai Gym in Thailand and hails from Scotland. He has held three championship belts. This is his first appearance with Champions of Champions. Sean was the first Scot to win fights at the fabled Bangkok venues, Lumpinee and Rajadamnern. Sean has shown over his career that he has developed a strong skill set when it comes to utilizing the entire Muay Thai arsenal. Sean has a number of impressive wins over top ranked fighters, among them Kassenov Dias of Kazakhstan whom he won the belt from in 2007

Parr vs. Buakaw for the vacant WMC MAD Middleweight Championship

John Wayne The Gunslinger Par – 72 Wins 28 Losses 1 Draw 36 KOs.

John Wayne hails from Australia and is one of the superstars of Muay Thai not only in Australia, but the world. He is respected as one of the most technically proficient Muay Thai fighters ever produced. JWP as he is known can be as devastating a puncher as anyone in the game. As his 36 knockouts indicate, if a fighter is not careful, he can find himself flat on his back from a JWP assault. Parr is a 5 time Title holder. He is also with his wife Angie, the Husband / Wife team whom many call the King and Queen of Muay Thai. JWP is looking to get payback for his 2004 loss to Pramuk.

Buakaw Por. Pramuk – 188 Wins 20 Losses 2 Draws 47 KOs.

Born Sombat Banchaemk, Buakaw fights out of the Por Pramuk gym in Bangkok Thailand. He is a living legend in the world of Muay Thai known reverently by Buakaw, a testament to his rock star status in the Muay Thai world. He is a ferocious trainer and lives breaths to do one thing, fight! He has held 5 World Title belts in two weight classes. Buakaw is known as a vicious kicker owing in part from his fiercely dedicated training regimen. With over 200 fights in his career there is no questioning this veterans readiness to be in the ring. He seeks to maintain his edge over Parr since taking the Gunslingers K1 Max Title back in 2004.

The Muay Thai delegations Ambassador will be Miss Thailand Gavintra Photijak. Yodsaenklai Fairtex, the current Contender Asia Champion will be the Muay Thai Team Captain and lead the 15 member delegation into the ceremonies. Additional celebrity delegates attending include international actor and martial artist, Jet Li.

August 29th Cultural Forum

The IMFA will be one of the featured speakers for the night. Stephan Fox the IFMA General Secretary will speak on The Social Values and Contributions of Martial Arts particularly in crime prevention.

August 29th Muay Thai Fights Begin

The Beijing Institute of Technology will host the Muay Thai competitions. The 88 fighter Muay Thai contingent will begin the preliminary rounds. It is expected that VIPs from the Media, Olympic Committees and Ministries from all over the world will be on hand to witness the start of the historic bouts. There will also be a Television Special called Road to Beijing aired internationally.

August 30th: Muay Thai Cultural Night: Muay Thai For Everyone

A special 2 hour Muay Thai cultural experience has been arranged by the Foreign Ministry, National Cultural Commission, The Royal Thai Embassy and the IFMA has been arranged for the over 300 invitees including top Embassy officials, SportAccord and assorted VIPs. The night will promote all things Muay Thai from Wai-Khru to Muay Boran.

August 31st Semi-finals

The semi finals will take place to get to the finalist in all divisions. The remaining fighters will move on to the finals in hopes of being crowned Division Champions.

September 1st Day Off

The finalist will be given a much needed day to rest and prepare for the fina
