Ryder Cup Practice Day Hospitality | Corporate Hospitality Group

Published by admin under Sport

Welsh golf fans are being given the choice of entering the online ballot for Hospitality to the Ryder Cup 2010, or taking the alternative option of securing passes for the two ‘practice days’ that precede golf’s most prestigious team event.
The Ryder Cup comes to Wales for the first time in September 2010 when The Celtic Manor Resort in the City of Newport hosts the biennial contest. Hospitality was initially allocated through an online Hospitality ballot. A second ballot was opened in September with successful applicants being notified in April 2010 – all unsuccessful applicants from the first ballot were automatically entered into the second ballot.
The Ryder Cup Matches involve various match play competitions between players selected from two teams of twelve. Currently, the matches consist of eight foursomes matches, eight fourball matches and 12 singles matches. The winner of each match scores a point for their team, with ½ a point each for any match that is tied after 18 holes.
In 2008, the format for the event changed versus the previous two Ryder Cup Matches. For the first time since 1999, the opening matches of a Ryder Cup featured the foursome (alternate-shot) format. U.S. captain Paul Azinger, hoping to give his team an early advantage in Kentucky, announced the change on January 30, 2008 at the PGA Tour’s FBR Open in Phoenix.
As well as Hospitality for the main match days, Ryder Cup Europe is also giving fans an early chance to sample the unique Ryder Cup atmosphere and see some of the world’s top players at close quarters by securing Hospitality at a special rate pre-tournament practice days.
Practice Day Hospitality, which start from £1,615.00 to £3,730.00, will be made available on a first come, first served basis via The Ryder Cup website at www.corporatehospitalitygroup.com/Ryder-Cup-Hospitality
Richard Hills, Director of Ryder Cup Europe, said; “Practice days at The Ryder Cup allow the golfers to familiarise themselves with the course and surroundings while the Team Captains get a last opportunity to see their players in action before deciding on the all-important pairings for the foursome and fourball matches.
There are two practice days in total, and Hospitality for the sessions on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th September.

Alongside the Olympic Games, the football World Cup and the Wimbledon tennis championships, The Ryder Cup stimulates the sporting passions like no other event in world golf.
Normal professional golfers enjoy team golf but put their true heart and soul into the individual game. Not so Pavin. Skippering the US Team has been his prime ambition since his Kiawah Island debut.
A second batch of Hospitality will be made available by the same ballot system, starting on a date to be announced next month and running through the winter of 2010.

Rugby Cup 2010 | Corporate Hospitality Group

Published by admin under Sport

28th September – 3rd October 2010
The Ryder Cup is a golf trophy, donated by Samuel Ryder, which is awarded biennially in an event called the “Ryder Cup Matches” between teams from Europe and the United States. The competition is jointly administered by the PGA of America and the PGA European Tour, and is contested every two years, the venue alternating between courses in the United States and Europe.
The competition began following an exhibition match in 1926 between a team comprising American professionals against a similar one drawn from the British PGA on the East Course, Wentworth Club, Virginia Water, Surrey and UK. The first competition took place in 1927.
Early matches between the two sides were fairly even, but after the Second World War, repeated US dominance led to a decision to extend the representation of the British & Irish team to include continental Europe in 1979. This change was partly prompted by the success of a new generation of Spanish golfers of the time, including Seve Ballesteros. He and Antonio Garrido became the first Spaniards to play in the event in 1979. Since then, Team Europe has included players from Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, and Sweden.
The Ryder Cup comes to Wales for the first time in September 2010 when the Celtic Manor in Newport hosts the biennial contest.
The 1969 Cup held at Royal Birkdale was perhaps one of the best and most competitive contests in terms of play (18 of the 32 matches went to the last green), but it was also marred by acrimony and gamesmanship between some players.
The 1999 Ryder Cup held at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, caused great controversy. A remarkable comeback by the American team helped propel the U.S. to a 14.5–13.5 victory after trailing 10–6 heading into the final day. The U.S. went 8–3–1 in the singles matches to seal the first American victory since 1993.
Following this change the event has enjoyed more competitive matches, with Europe winning seven times and retaining the Cup once, with seven American wins over this period.

Floyd Mayweather Tickets – Floyd Mayweather Boxing Tickets

Published by admin under Sport

Floyd Joy Mayweather, Jr. (born Floyd Sinclair on February 24, 1977), is an American professional boxer. He is the son of Floyd Mayweather, Sr., a former welterweight boxing contender.  From July 18, 2005 through June 2, 2008 he was rated by The Ring magazine as the number-one pound for pound boxer in the world. Mayweather has won six world boxing championships in five different weight classes; he is the former WBC welterweight champion, a title he vacated upon his retirement. He was named Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year in 1998 and 2007.

He is currently ranked number 2 pound for pound fighter. Mayweather is undefeated with 40 wins including 25 by knockout. Floyd Mayweather, Jr. was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with his mother’s last name. His last name would change to Mayweather shortly thereafter. His father, Floyd Mayweather, Sr., is a former welterweight contender, while two of his uncles, Jeff Mayweather and Roger Mayweather, won championship titles.

Mayweather had an amateur record of 84-6 and won national Golden Gloves championships in 1993 (at 106 lb), 1994 (at 114 lb), and 1996 (at 125 lb). He was given the nickname “Pretty Boy” by his amateur teammates because he had relatively few scars, a result of the defensive techniques that his father (Floyd Mayweather, Sr.) and uncle (Roger Mayweather) had taught him. In his orthodox defensive stance, Mayweather—much like James Toney—often utilizes the ‘shoulder roll’. The shoulder roll is an old-school boxing technique in which the right hand is held normally or slightly higher than normal, the left hand is down around the midsection, and the lead shoulder is raised high on the cheek in order to cover the chin and block punches. The right hand (from orthodox stance) is used as it normally would be to block punches coming from the other side, such as left hooks. From this stance, Mayweather blocks, slips, and deflects most of his opponents’ punches, even when cornered, by twisting left and right to the rhythm of their punches.

At the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Mayweather won a bronze medal by reaching the semi-finals of the featherweight (57 kg) division’s 31-boxer tournament. In the opening round, Mayweather led 10-1 on points over Bakhtiyar Tileganov of Kazakhstan before he won by round 2 referee stoppage. In the second round, Mayweather outpointed Artur Gevorgyan of Armenia 16-3. In the quarterfinals, Mayweather survived a late rally by Lorenzo Aragon of Cuba to win 12-11. In his semifinal bout against the eventual silver medalist, Serafim Todorov of Bulgaria, Mayweather lost by a controversial decision that the U.S. team officially protested. Many who saw the bout, including the referee (who mistakenly raised Mayweather’s hand when the decision was read), believed that Mayweather had won.

Floyd Mayweather has won six world boxing championships in five different weight classes. Manny Pacquiao, is the WBO World welterweight champion, IBO and Ring Magazine light welterweight champion, and is rated by Ring Magazine as the #1 pound-for-pound boxer in the world. Manny Pacquiao has agreed to fight Floyd Mayweather on 13 March 2010.
